AMS SERIES HEAT FLUX SENSOR
AMS Series heat flux sensor has a linear Schmidt-Boelter thermopile that generates a millivolt output directly proportional to the net absorbed heat transfer rate to the thermopile sensing element. The sensitive portion of the sensor is at the center of the diameter front face of the transducer. Schmidt-Boelter thermopiles absorb heat at the front surface and transfer the heat into the body normal to the absorbing surface. The difference in temperature that generates the output EMF is developed between the sensor surface and the body plane beneath the surface. The transducer is shipped with an optical black coating on the sensor. Since the transducer operates as a differential thermopile no thermoelectric reference junction is required.
