Gardon heat flux sensor (Gardon heat flow sensor) Gordon heat flux sensor was invented by Robert Gardon, using the classic circular foil heat flux sensor (Circular Foil Heat Flux Sensors) structure. 
 

After decades of development, technology of the Gardon heat flow sensor has become mature, and it is now widely used in wind tunnel heat flow research, engine heat flow research, flame radiation heat research, etc.
 

The principle of the Gardon heat flow sensor is: Constantan foil is welded to a copper heat sink. A copper lead wire is welded to the center of the constantan foil, so that a pair of thermopile composed of a copper lead-constantan foil-copper heat sink body is obtained. The copper lead welded on the center of the constantan foil and the copper lead welded on the copper heat sink constitute the output of the thermopile.
 

The Gardon heat flow sensor manufactured by AMI has the characteristics of high test accuracy, stable  and convenient use. It is suitable for various standard applications and special occasions.
 

The sensitivity of the Gardon heat flow sensor has nothing to do with the sensor temperature, so it can be used in a wide temperature range. If you need to use it for a long time, it is recommended to use water cooling to cool down to ensure the long-term use of the sensor.
 

Due to the structural limitation of the Gardon heat flow sensor, the general heat flow range is at least 50kw/m2, and the heat flow sensor below 50kw/m2 is best to uses the Schmidt-Boelte thermopile heat flow sensor.
